Around 80 cycling enthusiasts braved autumnal weather conditions at 8 am on Sunday morning at Gelli Aur, on the Inaugural Merlin Ride covering up to 100km around East Carmarthenshire. Greeted and promoted by Welsh Assembly Ministers Rhodri Glyn Thomas and Jane Davidson, said they were excited by the prospect that Wales would be at the forefront of championing such healthy activities, combining keeping fit and enjoying beautiful scenery and landscapes at the same time and believed the event would go from strength to strength.Many of the cyclists are hoping to raise substantial funds for Charities, including Wales Air Ambulance, Macmillan Cancer Support and others.
